The clip confused unsuspecting internet users who believed it to be a kind of theatrical production or something similar. In reality, it was the unconventional funeral of the designer Vernest Moore, and it was one of his last wishes before his death. Later, Carrington shared the footage on her social media and described the moment as “one of the MOST CHALLENGING things I’ve had to do.”
“I CAN’T BELIEVE that this would be my last walk for you, so I WON’T,” she continued. “From now on… even if I’m not walking FOR YOU, I’ll be walking WITH YOU because I know you’ll ALWAYS be with me,” she wrote.
To the entertainment site TMZ, Carrington revealed that the entire celebration was pre-planned and arranged by Vernest himself. Despite facing much criticism for her runway walk during her friend’s funeral, she said she has no regrets because everything was done the way her late friend would have wanted, and it was even more special for her as she was wearing one of the designs created by him.
